Basic Steps and Sets in Hyde Park

This class will introduce beginners to the footwork and figures of Irish set dancing — the group social dances that are danced at céilís in Boston, and internationally. We’ll take our time — learning the most basic steps and spatial patterns — in a fun, supportive, and patient environment. If you think you have two left feet but have always wanted to dance, this is the class for you! Students will change partners throughout the class, so you do not need to bring your own partner. Please bring supportive shoes with a clean, smooth sole. We need at least eight people to run this class — so you may bring a friend for FREE!

Floor and Core in Hyde Park

This is a mat fitness class designed to refresh, restore, and condition the body. We will stretch, strengthen, and lengthen to traditional Irish music, focusing on alignment, core conditioning, and the luxury of releasing into the floor. A wonderful balancing class for those who do a lot of step dancing, running, or other higher impact activities, or for anyone seeking an hour of self-care! This class draws from Kieran’s favorite fitness and somatic practices, including yoga, pilates, Body-Mind Centering and Bartenieff Fundamentals. Please bring a mat.
