Basic Set Dancing in Hyde Park

This class will introduce beginners to the footwork and figures of Irish set dancing — the group social dances that are danced at céilís in Boston, and internationally. We’ll take a “set dancing for dummies” approach, breaking down the most basic steps and spatial patterns, in a fun, supportive, and patient environment. If you think you have two left feet but have always wanted to move to Irish music and participate in Irish dancing, this is the class for you! Students will change partners throughout the class, so you do not need to bring your own partner. However, this class needs at least eight people to run. Tell a friend! Please bring supportive shoes with a clean, smooth sole.
