Registration

  • New students – try a class! Your first class is completely free!
  • 5 class card: $85
  • 10 class card: $160
  • single class: $18 if paid online or $20 if paid in person
  • Class cards may be purchased here online, or in person with cash or checks (payable to Kieran Jordan Dance). Class cards purchased online will be given to students in class.
  • Class cards are valid for 6 months from date of purchase. No refunds will be given, however, the class card may be transferred to another student if necessary.

Classes need a minimum of six students in order to run.

Beginner Sean-nós Dance in Quincy with Kieran Jordan

5-week sessions

This class is an introduction to sean-nós “old style” Irish dance, for both new and returning students at the beginner level. A fun and encouraging atmosphere for anyone who wants to learn this popular form of improvisational Irish dance! Kieran will teach the basic movements, rhythms, and step patterns that are found in Connemara sean-nós dancing. The first half hour of the class is introductory time for brand new students. Please wear shoes with a smooth hard sole.

Beginner Sean-nós Dance in Cambridge with Rebecca McGowan

5-week sessions

This class is an introduction to Irish step dancing and sean-nós “old style” Irish dance, for adult beginners. No experience needed! A fun and encouraging atmosphere for anyone who wants to learn the basic rhythms and footwork in both forms of traditional Irish dance. Students will also learn to identify the structure and timing of traditional Irish music. Please wear light sneakers or shoes with a smooth hard sole.

Continuing Sean-nós Dance in Cambridge with Kieran Jordan

5-week sessions

Sean-nós (“old style”) Irish dance is a joyful expression of movement and sound. Considered to be one of the earliest forms of Irish dancing, sean-nós is an improvised solo style, which includes footwork danced close-to-the-floor, a relaxed upper body, and a playful dialogue between the dance and the music. This class will focus on timing, style, improvisation, and a repertoire of traditional and original steps. Prior experience is required. Please wear shoes with a smooth hard sole.

Beginner 2 Irish Step Dance in Cambridge with Rebecca McGowan

5-week sessions

For adult beginners and continuing students, this class will introduce the basic footwork and technique of traditional Irish step dance. Students will learn lively soft shoe and hard shoe dances, including reels, jigs, and hornpipes, with a focus on alignment, placement, balance, and coordination. Students will also learn to understand the structure and timing of traditional Irish music. Please bring Irish dance soft shoes and hard shoes to class.

Intermediate Irish Step Dance in Cambridge with Kieran Jordan

An energetic and challenging class, focused on traditional old-style Irish step dance repertoire, céilí and set dancing, and Kieran’s original choreography. Each class will include a thorough warm-up and technique exercises designed for adult movers. Students enrolling in this class must have at least 2 years of experience in soft and hard shoe dancing.

A creative and adventurous class, focused on traditional old-style Irish step dance repertoire, céilí and set dancing, and Kieran’s original choreography. Each class will include a thorough warm-up and technique exercises designed for experienced Irish dancers. Students enrolling in this class should have intermediate/advanced proficiency in soft shoe and hard shoe Irish dancing, as well as an interest in choreography and performance.
